2007 marks the 103rd anniversary of the day that James Joyce's landmark novel, Ulysses, took place. The book is set in and around Dublin, Ireland and follows the adventures of several characters, including Leopold Bloom, Molly Bloom, Stephen Dedalus, stately plump Buck Mulligan, Blazes Boylan, and Davy Byrne (and his pub) through a single remarkable day, June 16, 1904. Fans of the novel celebrate Bloomsday each year by reading from the novel, re-enacting scenes, listening to traditional Irish music, or just hoisting a Guinness to their favorite literary work.
